Biography

Alon Penzel is an author and a Founding Fellow of the Mitzpe Institute. He has written two books; the first he wrote at sixteen. His most recent, Testimonies Without Boundaries: Israel, October 7th, 2023, is the first comprehensive, verified documentary record of firsthand accounts from October 7 — a bestseller in nine countries and seven languages, published by Mitzpe Press.

He serves as the Israeli delegate to the European Students’ Union, where he represents 390,000 students, and is a recipient of the Ramon Award. He trained in negotiation at Harvard and is reading political science at the University of Haifa. He has also served as a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces.

His work centers on testimony and the documentary record — the discipline of preserving what happened in the words of the people it happened to.
